The fourth issue of prompt: features a collaboration between historian Kathryn Brackney and artist Anna Plesset that takes the form of research materials in progress, compiled as a folder of photographs, texts, and reference materials. Expanding from a 16-mm film shot by Plesset’s grandfather, Lieutenant-Colonel Marvin Plesset, when he was deployed to Europe in 1944, this volume includes photo documentation of a room-scale trompe l’oeil painting installation by Plesset, an analytic written response by Brackney, and comparative documents that shed light on the entanglement of history and memory with the present.
This issue is produced in an edition of 100.
