‘Moran Point’ in Yellowstone NP in the United States is one of the first recognized scenic viewpoints in history. Named after Thomas Moran who got inspired from this vista point to create his masterpiece ‘The Grand Canyon of The Yellowstone’. In ‘Lookout Point’ Gremmen explores what happens if, over time, different perspectives and stories are used and rendered into a new reality. Centerpiece of this visual research are nine oil-paintings which were created over the past years by Chinese painters, copying each others work, and by doing so created a new version of Thomas Morans painting.
