CLOSING CEREMONY Magazine ISSUE 3: Smile Issue, U.S. exclusive
Taking "smile" as a clue, SamePaper invited more than 30 photographers and artists to explore the possibilities of "smile" beyond being an emoticon. On the one hand, smile is a necessity of life. On the other hand, smiling does not necessarily serve as an appeal to have some fun but carries an emotion with contradicting meanings. So the phenomena of smile now has a way more complicated significance. It is irony and rebellion, it is a creative way to deal with serious topics, and it is also a sharp weapon in an increasingly chaotic time.
Participated artists and photographers:
Chris Maggio(US), David Brandon Geeting & Lina Sun Park(US), Feng Li(CN), Fish Zhang (CN), Gaetano Pesce(IT), Guillaume Blondiau(BE), Lucas Blalock(US), Masanao, Hirayama(JP), Max Siedentopf(UK), Nigel Shafran(UK), Karolina Wojtas(PT), Paul, Kooiker(NL), Peter De Potter(BE), PZtoday (TH), Roe Ethridge(US)

Inside CLOSING CEREMONY Magazine, there is a special content: Amazine. The name comes from Amazon, and it is also homophonic to the slang people love to say: “amazing.”
The theme of "Amazine" is "Smile is worth a million", which was completed together by 14 artists. Focusing on "humorous images", everyone selected photos that remind them of “smile” and happy to look at. Then designer Jurgen Maelfeyt disrupted all the images and mixed them together. And let photos from different artists speak with each other.
