nergy Fields: Vibrations of the Pacific is a relational atlas that considers a multiplicity of readings that use vibration and energetic materials as a primary way of knowing.
As the most dynamic tectonic plate on the face of the planet, the Pacific has been a hotbed of activity caused by volcanic, seismic, nuclear, and other vibrant forces. It is these events and their resulting vibrations that have helped artists, scientists, and cultural historians cultivate a wide ranging but interdependent approach to knowledge creation and sensory practices. This edition sets out a series of texts and artistic methodologies that speak to the variable social, political, geological, scientific, and cultural ways in which vibration is used to understand this region and to shape its very nature.
