Marking the launch of its third issue, the independent fashion journal Viscose takes over SculptureCenter’s courtyard for an evening of genre-defying fashion activity. Responding to the issue theme of “ASIAS,” the evening will feature New York City-based contributors who probe and challenge ideas of identity and heritage, overlaying geographical, social, and sartorial senses of belonging.

The evening will include a special performance by the New York City-based Chinese designer feyfey WORLDWIDE, featuring the local artist-couple Chris Capuozzo and Denise Ranallo Capuozzo. The performance takes the form of an ambient wedding anniversary party, and extends the central storyline from feyfey’s newest collection “I LOVE MY WIFE SO MUCH,” about a henpecked husband and his idolized eccentric wife. A graduate of Rhode Island School of Design and Royal College of Art in London, feyfey WORLDWIDE has become known internationally for ingeniously exploring modern femininity in a humorous and alternative way, most notably through her dramatically inflatable garments.

Enjoy readings from art collective and fashion brand CFGNYSimon Wu (critic and recipient of the Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant), and Viscose’s editor-in-chief Jeppe Ugelvig

Finally, browse through an impromptu fashion book bazaar curated by Bungee Space, run by the interdisciplinary art bookstore 3standardstoppage studio with outposts in both Beijing and New York’s Lower East Side. Also on display will be an exclusive mini collaborative collection with feyfey WORLDWIDE and designs by several other Viscose contributors, including VeniceW and Baby Reni. The fan-shaped third issue of Viscose will be available for purchase for $30.
