Since their foundation in 2018, the Chinese band Shanghai Qiutian (“Shanghai Autumn”) are on a mission to spread their music throughout the world. The math rock quartet has played over a hundred concerts in Mainland China and abroad. There are few from the Chinese indie rock scene that are not aware of their presence and their explosive live performances, that aim to both resonate with and reflect the spirit of indie youth culture in China.
Their newest album “Home: Revolution” was co-produced with Taiwanese band Elephant Gym and Takaaki Mino from Japanese math rock legends Toe. It is clear that the band isn’t done yet with paving their own path through the jungle of alternative music. They have toured multiple times, having played festivals for over 1000 people, and are currently on their first-ever world tour during 2022/2023.
