The book takes its title from a common U.S. military chant used to synchronize soldiers during a march. The English version plays with the multiple meanings of “left” and “right” in relation to military coordinates (moving left and right), belief systems (edicts on good\/bad\/right\/wrong), and patterns of immigration (the things we leave behind).
